From the Secretary’s Desk – November 30, 2022

What a year. Let’s take a moment and enjoy our successes!

We moved to a new member system, and members old and new took to it enthusiastically. Thank you! Our membership has continued to grow, so much so that we are closing membership tomorrow.
We (to be clear, not ME, but Amelia and Gretchen) redid the floors and the ceiling behind the bar.
We elected a new board and reworked our bylaws.
We have a new values statement.
We have had some truly great events that allow us to continually change and improve.

All of this while adjusting to what it means to be in this space, to be in the community, and to be intentional about how we move forward.

We genuinely hope you see and enjoy the benefits of all the behind the scene work.

Let’s talk about next year and some things we hope to accomplish. My mantra continues to be – “managing a club with 200 members is done very differently than with 30 members”
We will lean on our membership system more for all of the minutiae of member management – addresses and birthdates, privacy agreements, photo releases, board happenings, and more.
To manage all that, we hope to roll out our own app.
We hope to make the club building more accessible.
We hope to make our ordering easier, especially for mobile users.
Amelia will be taking on her first full-time employee.
We hope to continue to make a difference in the community – book clubs, stitch ‘n bitch, clothing swaps.

Most of all, we want to be a place of respite for you and yours.

Thank you for taking this journey.
