Our Members are our Foundation

Why Membership Matters

The most important reason to become a member of CPC is to help us uphold our legal responsibilities as a 503(c)7 organization. As a social club, maintaining a strong and active membership is essential to our existence. By becoming a member, you’re not only supporting our values and mission but also ensuring that we continue to provide a welcoming space for the community to thrive.

Members of the CPC enjoy exclusive benefits, including the ability to rent our space for private events (this applies to probationary members too, with a member reference number). Plus, you can pre-order our Birthday Cake Dessert Service for your celebration, which includes two cakes and whipped cream—enough to serve around 30 guests. We love celebrating our members!

Membership is an investment in the physical space that allows our community to gather and grow. Your membership dues help offset our intentional decision to keep food and drink prices affordable. It’s a form of direct mutual aid—if we charge less for our offerings, the funds need to come from somewhere, and membership fills that gap.

You’ll also receive discounted prices for events where we offer Party Passes, which include party favors or food. In addition, you’ll gain access to our private members-only Facebook group (note: you’ll need to request access as we can’t add you directly).

Finally, membership comes with a voice. You’ll have the right to vote for club leadership, attend our yearly membership meeting, and of course, enjoy the opportunity to rent the club for your own private events.

Our membership tries its best to embrace the wonderfully diverse spectrum of identities, experiences, and expressions that make our Baltimore truly unique. We’re a social club for the weird folks, the messy folks, the creative souls, and everyone who defies easy categorization. Here, we recognize that each of us brings our own quirks, stories, and idiosyncrasies to the table.  This is a space where our collective weirdness isn’t just accepted—it’s actively nurtured and celebrated.

As adults, many of us are juggling the pressures of society and capitalism, constantly grinding to keep up. Our community understands the importance of slowing down, relaxing, and just being. Sometimes, the best way to recharge is simply sitting in a chair in the yard, hanging out near people you like, and not feeling the need to do much at all.
