A Note from The Board
Happy Pride Everyone!
2023 feels like a hard year for gay rights and Pride in general. In the past year there have been so many anti-trans bills passed all over the U.S., Roe v. Wade was rolled back, and we are back to worrying about conservative protesters at our events.
Solidarity, QUEER JOY & CONNECTION feel more important than ever, and all of us that work to make this Club happen are so proud of the labor we are put in to maintain space for joy to manifest. We like to look out over the yard and see all your beautiful faces and are so thankful that you choose to spend your time and money with us.
We’ve been going back over some stuff lately and we’re really proud that we haven’t raised food or beverage prices since 2020. It still feels wildly important for us to hold them at a place that doesn’t price people out of being able to access community.
That conviction isn’t without financial consequences for our organization. We do what we can to create a system that is still sustainable. That is why we only ever have one menu per day and a limited alcohol selection. However, we could still use a boost!
For Pride we ask that you support this VERY gay establishment, a place where every single person who works – to organize, create, and clean – is gay. Please attend events at the Club this month as we celebrate PRIDE, please bring your friends, please buy dinner, mocktails, and cocktails. Please support our PRIDE fundraiser on Friday the 23rd. Please drop a little extra money into the jar on the bar, add an extra tip on your credit card, consider joining our Patreon, or sending us a donation through our website.
Every dollar that you donate will go to keeping this space the weird, gay oasis in northeast Baltimore that you’ve come to know and love.
