President’s Message – August 30, 2023

Hello, members and guests of CPC! It has been a long while since I last wrote for the newsletter. Now that the summer is over it’s time for some great fall events at the club!

I do have some exciting news! We are in the bringing of working out a yearbook for the club. We will have a picture day and take submissions of photos from the members. We will have more information on that in the next month but this brings up a good topic we should discuss first. Our photo policy.

Zak has done a terrific job capturing our events at the club. He has been very particular about who he photographs to avoid invading anyone’s privacy. I love that he takes that so seriously. He also makes sure only to post them in our members-only group on Facebook so the general public can not easily access them. However, it means many of our photos have many of the same people in them. I would like to see a more diverse representation of the club in our photos.

So, we need your help. We have sat on extending our photo policy to the public because we need to figure out a way to easily distinguish who is okay being photographed and who isn’t. This new policy has to feel like it is a part of the club culture and not cause any additional friction as our Operations team has their hands pretty full. Instead of offering suggestions from the logistic side of this, I am asking what would work best for you. Would a wristband work? A sign for where you are sitting? A button? Let us know.

The board works hard to make sure we create policies that ease into what makes CPC special and we try not to put more work on anyone. My inbox and Facebook Messenger are always open.

I’m so ready for Fall! Use the fire pits with care and don’t leave fires unattended!

See you in the yard
